Importing video

Obiklip works from the local file you choose. Importing does not upload, copy, move or modify the recording.

Open a file

Drop a video anywhere on the Obiklip page, or press Open video.

Common video containers including MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM are accepted. Browser codec support still determines whether a particular video can be decoded and exported.

The confirmation screen

After reading the file, Obiklip shows its duration, dimensions and size. Choose the spoken language, the kinds of clips to find and any directions for the analysis. Nothing has been spent at this point.

Opening the same recording again

Obiklip recognises a recording by its content rather than its filename. Opening the same video again follows the existing local project instead of making a duplicate.

After a refresh

Chrome and Edge can remember the file handle. When you open a recent project, the browser may ask you to allow access again; approve that prompt and the video opens without choosing it again. If the browser could not store the handle, permission was denied, or the file moved, Obiklip asks you to locate the same video.

Removing a project

Removing a project deletes its local transcript, clips, edits and export history from this browser. The original video and files already downloaded are not touched.
