Getting started

From opening the web app to downloading a finished clip. Nothing needs to be installed.

1. Open Obiklip

Open Obiklip. There is no account and nothing to sign up for. Save your API key under Settings → OpenAI.

2. Open a recording

Drop a video onto the page or press Open video and choose a local file. Obiklip reads it directly from your computer. The video is not uploaded or copied into your project.

Choose the spoken language, and the kinds of clips you want. Nothing has been sent to a provider yet.

3. Analyse

Press Analyze Video. The transcription and the analysis go from this browser to OpenAI on your own API key, and OpenAI bills you for them. Obiklip charges nothing. There is no daily analysis quota.

When analysis finishes you have the full transcript and a ranked list of suggested clips. Every later analysis is saved as a separate result that you can switch back to.

4. Refine the clips

Play each suggestion. Keep the ones that work, move the rest to Trash, and adjust the start, end, title, transcript, frame and subtitles of anything you keep.

5. Export

Select one or more clips, press Export, choose MP4 and a quality, then let the browser render them. Each finished clip is downloaded to your browser's download location. Exporting is free, so you can revise and export again as often as needed.
