Obiklip

Obiklip

Turn long-form spoken video into short, publish-ready clips.

Version 2.0.0 macOS and Windows

Settings

Everything Obiklip lets you change is here, and there is not much of it. Settings save themselves as you change them.

Downloads

Save videos from a link to Where a video fetched from a link is written. That saved file becomes the project's source, so moving or deleting it later leaves the project with nothing to render from. Left alone, Obiklip picks a folder alongside your other videos.

Closed captions

These change the caption drawn over the video while you work. They have nothing to do with the subtitles burned into an exported clip - those are per clip, and are covered in Subtitles.

Show captions on the video stage Whether the line being spoken is drawn over the video. On by default.
Text size How large that line is, within a range that stays readable.
Position Not in this dialog: drag the caption on the video itself. It is remembered as a proportion of the frame, so resizing the window keeps it where you put it.

Settings that live where they are used

Play a clip when its row is clicked Above the clip list. Off by default: a click selects, so the video does not run away with you while you are reading.
Columns Also above the clip list. Hide the columns you do not use; what you hide is remembered, and a column added by a later version arrives visible.
Output folder and quality In the export dialog, remembered from the last export. See Framing and export.
