The common failures and what to try. If yours is not here, send support enough detail to reproduce it.

A recent project says the source video cannot be found

The project is still present, but the browser no longer has permission to read its original video. Open the recent project and approve the browser's file-access prompt. If no prompt is available, choose Locate file and select the same video.

This can happen when the browser cannot persist file handles, permission was revoked, or the file was moved. Obiklip checks the file's content before reconnecting it, so a different video is not accepted accidentally.

The notice can be put away. Your transcript, clips and translations were never in the video file, so reading and editing them, translating them, exporting a project file and downloading a clip you already exported all work without it. Playing the video, exporting a new clip and transcribing audio Obiklip has not already cut are what need the file back.

A run stopped partway

Every piece of transcript and every part of the analysis is saved the moment it comes back, so closing the tab, reloading or a lost connection costs you only what was still in flight. Open the project again and the button reads Resume Analysis when there is saved work this run would carry forward. What was already paid for is not sent to OpenAI a second time.

Choosing another language, or another part of the video, asks a different question. That starts fresh, and the notice on the screen says so before you begin.

Closing the page stops the work. Resuming means carrying on from what was saved, not that anything kept running while the page was shut.

The video will not play

A container such as MP4 or MOV can still contain a codec the browser cannot decode. Try the current Chrome or Edge release and confirm that the original plays in that browser. If the file moved, locate it again from the project.

The analysis failed

Open Settings → OpenAI and test the key. OpenAI may reject requests because the key is invalid, the selected model is unavailable, a limit was reached or the API account has no credit. Retry on a stable connection once it passes.

OpenAI bills only for the requests it actually answered.

The transcript used the wrong language

Re-analyse with the language chosen explicitly instead of Auto. This is another AI run: it creates new OpenAI usage on your key.

Your projects are not where you left them

Projects live in the browser profile that made them, so another browser, another computer or a private window starts empty. Clearing site data removes them for good. There is no account to sign into and no copy on a server.

An export stopped

Rendering uses browser media APIs and local memory. Keep the page in the foreground, close other memory-heavy tabs and retry with a shorter clip or lower quality. Completed clips already downloaded remain usable, and exporting again costs nothing.

An export that was interrupted is listed as interrupted in Exports with a button to run it again. It starts over rather than continuing: a half-written video file has nothing in it to carry on from. Clips that finished are unaffected.

Download again does nothing

Obiklip keeps a finished clip so it can be offered again after a reload, but that copy is bounded and the oldest are given up first. If the copy has gone, Obiklip says so and you can export the clip again — the file already in your downloads folder is untouched either way. Exports made by an older version of Obiklip were never kept, so those have to be exported again.
